How Still in Stride makes money

Monetization is currently deferred: there are no affiliate links, no ad slots, and no sponsored content on Still in Stride right now. The policy below is the standing rulebook for if and when monetization is switched on — nothing on this site implies revenue is active today.

Affiliate links, plainly explained

When affiliate links exist, some pages will contain links to retailers. If you buy through one of those links, the retailer pays us a commission. It costs you nothing extra — you pay the same price either way.

It does mean we can keep the lights on without paywalls or selling your data.
It does not mean a manufacturer can pay for a better verdict. Rankings and verdicts are never for sale.

Our verdicts are written from the research first — owner communities, Facebook groups, forums, the used market — and the links are added after. If a product earns an "avoid" from us, it gets no affiliate link. Ever.

What we will never do

No pay-to-rank. No manufacturer, retailer, or PR firm can pay for placement, a better score, or a softer verdict.
No undisclosed sponsorships. If money changes hands around content, you will see it labeled, in plain words, on that content.
No sponsored content presented as editorial. We don't run sponsored content at all.
No affiliate links on products we rate "avoid."
No affiliate links on medical-alert devices, period. Fall detection and emergency response are safety-critical purchases; our coverage there is cautionary by design.
No affiliate links on programs and memberships. SilverSneakers is an insurance benefit, HASfit and Bob & Brad are free — there is nothing to sell.

We run a small number of clearly labeled static ad slots — a sidebar slot and one below the article. That's it. Every ad is labeled Advertisement in plain text. Banned outright: pop-ups, interstitials, auto-playing video or audio, sticky overlays, and anything that breaks the page on a phone. Ad slots ship empty at launch.

Every page that carries affiliate links opens with a disclosure block above the first link. This policy is linked from the footer of every page as How we make money.
